Steve Feldman
President and Chief Executive Officer
Steve Feldman is President and Chief Executive Officer of Techcare, formerly Graphtech Systems, a full-service IT consulting firm specializing in providing outsourced technology support and effective technology solutions for small- and medium-size businesses, non-profit organizations and schools in the Chicago area. Techcare was recently named to the list of top 100 managed service providers in the world, one of only two in Chicago.
Feldman founded Techcare in 1987 and the firm quickly earned a strong reputation for its expertise servicing the technology needs of creative and graphic arts firms, clients in the education sector and cross-platform corporations. Since then, the company has grown from a staff of 6 to a team of 30 employees, adding a wider range of client sectors as well as depth of expertise in advanced networking and multi-platform environments.
Techcare has also added virtualization, backup and disaster recovery, and process improvement to the list of its comprehensive suite of services, along with a state-of-the-art Response Center and Network Operations Center. Based in Deerfield, Ill., Techcare specializes in providing organizations in a wide variety of industries with access to enterprise-quality tools, technologies, processes and highly-trained technology experts, similar to the in-house IT infrastructure of Fortune 500 companies.
During the early part of his 30-year career when he started as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Feldman received a portable Compaq computer that helped him develop a strong interest, passion and talent for technology. Shifting his focus more to the technology aspects of each client as desktop computers became more commonplace in the office setting, Feldman entrepreneurial spirit emerged in 1987, launching Techcare.
Feldman is a popular speaker at various industry trade conferences, seminars and meetings, including Ingram Micro’s VentureTech Invitational, VentureTech Network (VTN), Microsoft, Cisco, Illinois Technology Conference for Educators (ILTCE) and Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO). Feldman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is a nonpracticing CPA. He is also a member of the VentureTech Network, an organization of independent professional IT firms that focus on small- to mid-size businesses and the GovEd Alliance, a resource of the technology distributor Ingram Micro Inc. that helps IT solution providers serve the government and/or education markets.
Feldman received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign campus. He lives in Wilmette, Ill. with his wife and two children.
